Learning Outside the Box

Glenbow School is exploring environmental and global ideas in a Trickster Residency called ‘Learning Outside the Box’

Learning Outside the Box

Our school is exploring a whole range of socially conscious ideas in our Trickster Residency Week. Everything from learning where our food comes from, to the dangers of pollution and the importance of bees. It’s going to be a wild week of learning, theatre and fun with the Tricksters!

  • Full Project Summary

Trickster Theatre is doing a one-week residency with our school around the theme ‘Learning Outside the Box’. Students will explore a range of global and environmental themes with their class and specialized theatre experts. The week will end in a theatre production with the whole school involved.

  • Project Outcome

We will be building a show called 'Learning Outside the Box' with the whole school involved.

  • How to create projects

Only a school site admin can set up new projects. Ask you teacher to get help in setting up a project page. Once set up you can write blog articles to support your project.

New Projects can be of many types: an event, a take action project, a study, or a Trickster Residency.

  • What is Trickster Theatre

Trickster Theatre hosts weeklong residencies in Alberta schools. We help create an original show with up to 500 actors - on any theme. We provide the lights, curtains, sounds, costumes, and more!

Kids Go Global is a place for Elementary, Junior and Senior High schools to explore Global Issues and then work alone or with NGOs to take action locally and internationally. It also supports students acting out the issues using theatre and provides opportunities to share student work and projects. It is a partnership between schools, NGOs and Trickster Theatre.
