Canadian Leadership Moments

Grasmere School is located approximately 70km northwest of Edmonton, in the village of Alberta Beach. Currently we have 150 students who attend kindergarten to grade seven. There is a teaching staff of 10 and 6 support staff.

Our students, teachers, and staff are very excited to work with Trickster Theatre in the 2017-18 school year to put on our show on Canadian Leadership Moments.

We greatly appreciate your help and look forward to sharing our finished work with you!

  • Full Project Summary

Grasmere School will look at Canadian Leadership Moments focusing on Canada’s 150th birthday while including The Habits of Highly Effective People.  Students will choose their own theme and area of interest on leadership in Canada.

Such interests could include: the career of Emily Carr, a trailblazer for women in Canadian art; notable First Nations leaders in Canadian history such as Elijah Harper; and even the story of the Canadarm. They will then create a performance based on these stories. All segments will be linked together for the final show, performed for students, parents and community members on the last day of the residency.

  • Project Outcome

Looking at leadership in Canada will inspire our students to take leadership roles. They will be responsible for producing the show, writing scripts, making props, and performing. Students will need to take leadership to ensure the success of the team. This skill can be applied to many aspects of their education and future careers.

  • How to create projects

Only a school site admin can set up new projects. Ask you teacher to get help in setting up a project page. Once set up you can write blog articles to support your project.

New Projects can be of many types: an event, a take action project, a study, or a Trickster Residency.

  • What is Trickster Theatre

Trickster Theatre hosts weeklong residencies in Alberta schools. We help create an original show with up to 500 actors - on any theme. We provide the lights, curtains, sounds, costumes, and more!
