Our Lady of Peace Elementary Junior High School (OLP) is located in the SW quadrant of Calgary. Our school community is comprised of approximately 625 students from kindergarten to grade 9, including a special education classroom.

Our students, teachers, and staff are very excited to work with Trickster Theatre in the 2017-18 school year to put on our show on Our Country, Our Mosaic.

We greatly appreciate your help and look forward to sharing our finished work with you!

  • Full Project Summary

Our Lady of Peace School will work together to create a show on the theme “Our Country, Our Mosaic”.  Each class will perform a segment of the overall show theme using such topics as: our First Nations relationships, early ranching and farming, the contribution of the Chinese and Japanese, the growing impact of French Language in western Canada and current immigration patterns.

  • Project Outcome

Through the support of a whole school fine arts residency, we will bring our school community together to celebrate Canada’s 150 birthday. Our Lady of Peace is a diverse school that encourages students to “…live to learn and learn to live.” Through our theme of “Our Country, Our Mosaic”, we will explore this diversity and encourage a sense of community within our school. Our community has grown and changed over the past decade, however we are all united in the fact that we live in a beautiful and gracious country.

  • How to create projects

Only a school site admin can set up new projects. Ask you teacher to get help in setting up a project page. Once set up you can write blog articles to support your project.

New Projects can be of many types: an event, a take action project, a study, or a Trickster Residency.

  • What is Trickster Theatre

Trickster Theatre hosts weeklong residencies in Alberta schools. We help create an original show with up to 500 actors - on any theme. We provide the lights, curtains, sounds, costumes, and more!
