We are teaming up with the Margaret Chisholm Resettlement Centre a project of the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society. For over 34 years, the CCIS has been a leader in delivering quality resettlement and integration services to refugees and immigrants.

  • Full Project Summary

We plan to explore how to work with a multicultural, multilingual and multidisciplinary team and create compassion and empathy for newcomers to our province. Many of these people are refugees, escaping war, poverty and threats to their life and seeking a new home in Canada.  The centre prides itself on delivering services through a dynamic multicultural, multilingual and multidisciplinary team of professionals. They even have over 2,000 volunteers who devote their time to help newcomers.

We wish to understand what it takes to provide reassurance and tolerance for newcomers in breaking through many challenges that await them.

  • Project Outcome

We will develop a relationship with the centre and the community trying to reestablish their lives here. We will aid and assist where the need is the greatest and create bonds that hopefully will last beyond the school year.

  • How to create projects

Only a school site admin can set up new projects. Ask you teacher to get help in setting up a project page. Once set up you can write blog articles to support your project.

New Projects can be of many types: an event, a take action project, a study, or a Trickster Residency.

  • What is Trickster Theatre

Trickster Theatre hosts weeklong residencies in Alberta schools. We help create an original show with up to 500 actors - on any theme. We provide the lights, curtains, sounds, costumes, and more!
