Dr. Roberta Bondar School is a new school in the Calgary Board of Education. We currently have a student population of 280 students from Gr. K-4 and will grow in the next few years to include Gr. 5 and 6.  We are the community school for the Aspen Woods area, a part of Strathcona Park, and welcome families from the neighbourhood.

Our students, teachers, and staff are very excited to work with Trickster Theatre in the 2017-18 school year to put on our show on Inquire, Innovate, Inspire… Imagine….

We greatly appreciate your help and look forward to sharing our finished work with you!

  • Full Project Summary

Dr. Roberta Bondar School students will create a showcase performance that speaks to their vision of what it means to be a Dr. Roberta Bondar student. They have come to know who Roberta Bondar is and acknowledge her as a multi-talented, well-rounded person whose lifework has centred around the awe and beauty of our Earth.

Each of our classes will explore a different facet of Dr. Bondar’s work and create a performance piece based on what they have discovered. These may take the format of doing extensive research in space or representing and documenting our beautiful planet through photography.

  • Project Outcome

Participating in a Trickster Theatre residency would benefit our new school in many ways. Their vision and talents would allow us to explore the curriculum in different ways. The weeklong residency will encourage a cohesive school community by having students collaborating and working together in a shared experience.

Only a school site admin can set up new projects. Ask you teacher to get help in setting up a project page. Once set up you can write blog articles to support your project.

New Projects can be of many types: an event, a take action project, a study, or a Trickster Residency.

  • What is Trickster Theatre

Trickster Theatre hosts weeklong residencies in Alberta schools. We help create an original show with up to 500 actors - on any theme. We provide the lights, curtains, sounds, costumes, and more!
