John D’Or Prairie School is a K-12 school and has a population of approximately 430 students from the Little Red River Cree Nation. Little Red River Cree Nation consists of Fox Lake, John D’Or Prairie, and Garden River, approximately 130 km east of High Level, Alberta.

Our students, teachers, and staff are very excited to work with Trickster Theatre in the 2017-18 school year to put on our show on Identifying Pathways.

We greatly appreciate your help and look forward to sharing our finished work with you!

  • Full Project Summary

John d’Or Prairie School will focus on the theme of Identifying Pathways. Our thoughts are for students to discover, through research, examples of pathways that their chosen role models have taken to achieve success.

We want to build self-confidence in our students by allowing them to discover, identify and relate to the pathways chosen by their role models. The acquisition of these skills are more career focused but with the understanding and hope that our students will be able to identify with at least one role model.

  • Project Outcome

Our kids have great potential as citizens, athletes, entrepreneurs, artists, or in other careers they aspire to do. That they are capable of great things but we see the need to help them discover their potential. Focusing on role models and their pathways to success will be very helpful for our students. Living those choices through theatre will create strong reminders of the values and approaches needed for success.

  • How to create projects

Only a school site admin can set up new projects. Ask you teacher to get help in setting up a project page. Once set up you can write blog articles to support your project.

New Projects can be of many types: an event, a take action project, a study, or a Trickster Residency.

  • What is Trickster Theatre

Trickster Theatre hosts weeklong residencies in Alberta schools. We help create an original show with up to 500 actors - on any theme. We provide the lights, curtains, sounds, costumes, and more!
