Finding the Balance

This fall students at Sir John Franklin Junior High worked with Trickster Theatre and learned about many aboriginal and treaty issues during their week long residency.

Finding the Balance

Through out the week students were given an opportunity to learn about the beauty of the aboriginal culture as well as the challenges presented to them in Canada as they seek to find the balance that comes with living in two worlds.  Some of the students from Sir John Franklin then went on to a conference sponsored by Trickster Theatre that brought together both native and non native students to examine these issues further.  The result of the collaboration was an outstanding new show to perform and a new perspective on the issues for the students.

  • How to create projects

Only a school site admin can set up new projects. Ask you teacher to get help in setting up a project page. Once set up you can write blog articles to support your project.

New Projects can be of many types: an event, a take action project, a study, or a Trickster Residency.

  • What is Trickster Theatre

Trickster Theatre hosts weeklong residencies in Alberta schools. We help create an original show with up to 500 actors - on any theme. We provide the lights, curtains, sounds, costumes, and more!

Kids Go Global - Explore, Act, Inspire.

Kids Go Global is a place for Elementary, Junior and Senior High schools to explore Global Issues and then work alone or with NGOs to take action locally and internationally. It also supports students acting out the issues using theatre and provides opportunities to share student work and projects. It is a partnership between schools, NGOs and Trickster Theatre.
