Pineridge School is a multiage-classroom school located in the northeast Calgary community of Pineridge. The Pineridge community is well served with many amenities utilized by the school including the Village Square Library, the Village Square Leisure Centre, the Boys and Girls Club, daycare facilities, and shopping areas. Pineridge is a K-6 school that has approximately 260 students.
Our students, teachers, and staff are very excited to work with Trickster Theatre in the 2017-18 school year to put on our show on A Green Future.
To host this residency, we need a total of $11,700. We have applied for funding from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts. If this is not accepted, we need to cover the cost of the residency. So far, we have committed $5,850 to the total cost and Trickster Theatre has committed to fundraising $2,925.
We need your help to raise the remaining $2,925. Your contribution ensures a fun-filled week of active learning for every student within our school.
We greatly appreciate your help and look forward to sharing our finished work with you!
Full Project Summary
Pineridge Community School’s motto is ‘Making a Difference in Our World.’ We have been working with the Pineridge Community Association on the project “3 Things for the Properties”, which is a part of the larger projects “3 Things for Calgary” and “3 Things for Canada” as a part of the country’s Canada 150 celebrations.
We have invited an environmental design team from SAIT to work with our school through the research and implement phases of our theme and are looking forward to having Trickster come to our school to help us represent what we have learned, and are planning to do, by the creation of a movement based theatre piece.
Project OutcomeWe are really looking forward to A Green Future project because it has so many components and participants. We will be making our students stronger learners by exposing them to a wide variety of organizations to collaborate with throughout our project. Students will see what it looks like to be good citizens and will become excited to give back to the community they live in.

How to create projects
Only a school site admin can set up new projects. Ask you teacher to get help in setting up a project page. Once set up you can write blog articles to support your project.
New Projects can be of many types: an event, a take action project, a study, or a Trickster Residency.
