World Habitat Day

Oct 02, 2017 | DEVELOP

Whether you live in an igloo or a teepee, it is the basic right of all to have adequate shelter. Since 1985, the United Nations has designated the first Monday of October as World Habitat Day – intended to remind us of our collective responsibility for the future of the human habitat. Take a look at the Kids Go Global website to see what kids around the world are doing in their communities and abroad to ensure everyone has a safe roof over their heads.

Kids Go Global is a place for Elementary, Junior and Senior High schools to explore Global Issues and then work alone or with NGOs to take action locally and internationally. It also supports students acting out the issues using theatre and provides opportunities to share student work and projects. It is a partnership between schools, NGOs and Trickster Theatre.
